DELTA

Dutch artist Boris Tellegen began his career in the 1980’s as a text-based graffiti artist under the pseudonym Delta. He is known for his fractured three-dimensional reliefs or wood and paper collages, which play with perspective and surface.

Delta, born Boris Tellegen, began as a Graffiti artist in the 1980s. After studying industrial design engineering at the Delft University of Technology in the early 1990s, Delta began creating mixed-media sculptures, collages and installations. The influence of architecture and design appears in his work in all media, with his focus on depth and creating a sense of three-dimensionality on a flat surface. He is known for this fractured three-dimensional reliefs or wood and paper collages, which play with perspective and surface. This concept was later incorporated into his fine art practice and combined with his studies in Industrial Design and Engineering at TU Delft.  Delta currently lives and works in Amsterdam and his work has been exhibited in group and solo shows, including Musée des Beaux-Arts in Tourcoing (France), Amsterdam Museum in the Netherlands, Somerset House and Elms Lesters Gallery in London, Gallery Common in Tokyo (Japan) and Kunstraum Kreuzberg Bethanien in Berlin.

Delta, nasceu Boris Tellegen e começou como grafiteiro na década de 1980. Depois de estudar engenharia de design industrial na Delft University of Technology no início dos anos 1990, Delta começou a criar esculturas, colagens e instalações de mídia mista. A influência da arquitetura e do design aparece em seu trabalho em todas as mídias, com seu foco na profundidade e criando uma sensação de tridimensionalidade em uma superfície plana. Ele é conhecido por seus relevos tridimensionais fraturados ou colagens de madeira e papel, que brincam com a perspectiva e a superfície.
